    19th Century Lost Poems

    March 9, 2021

On the Fall of the Chichester Cathedral

This poem appeared in the West Sussex Gazette on March 14, 1861. It was written by a young woman named Eleanor Fanny Cobby, just 21 years old. Parts of the poem illegible, and my classmates at Murray State helped me decipher them. This is the first time it has appeared online. Enjoy.
