Submission Guidelines

We accept stories of any genre, creative nonfiction and literary essays focused on elements of craft. See most recent CFP for theme.

Submission period: April 1st or October 1st to October 31st, each year. No simultaneous submissions, please. 

Acceptances/requests for further editing will be sent by January 1st. Publication will be online in the spring. We are sorry, but we can no longer pay for publication. 

• Stories up to 10,000 words (flash fiction is ok)
• Creative nonfiction up to 5,000 words
• Literary essays up to 8,000 words (must be formatted in Chicago endnotes style)

Email us your work in .doc or .docx format. You can also include it in the body of your email. Be sure to include a short bio. Send to ngyreview@gmail.com from October 1 to October 31 for fiction & creative nonfiction, and from April 1 to October 31 for literary essays, no exceptions.
